He had many fond memories of trips north with his wife, Julie, to see the fall foliage. He loved watching the Hallmark channel, Game Show Network, Westerns and Bradley basketball. He enjoyed playing cards and attending the Ward family reunions, was an avid coin collector, a model-train enthusiast and a lover of old country music. He participated in the Farmington Jaycees and their clown troop, served terms on the Farmington Planning Commission, was on the Farmington Area Public Library Board and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Farmington and the Farmington American Legion.
